Sarah Palin is BACK (on SNL)!!!

In case you missed it...  Because I know I did!  Tina Fey reprised her role as Governor Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live last night.  Amy Poehler was also in the sketch, and this time, I think she nailed it (as Katie Couric).  Check it out.

In other news, Oxygen network has taken over America's Next Top Model!  Not only do they have the exclusive rights to the past seasons, they will be airing the current season on their network. It's really not that exciting, I know...

Final Thought: Happy Birthday, Bam Margera!  (And Lora, Serena, Jamie, etc.)

Tuesday news...

OK, the excitement of Clay Aiken's coming-out has waned...  On to more exciting (?) news.

Yess!!  The season premier of Dancing With The Stars last night scored 21 million viewers (the other big show that night--Heroes--premiered with like 8 million viewers [hahahaha Kim]).  It was a great show, too.  My early favorites: Lance Bass (duh), Toni Braxton, Kim Kardashian, and Cody Linley.  And it's a great season because my three favorite male pros are all in attendance--Mark Ballas, Maksim Chmerkovsky, and Derek Hough.

It's becoming more and more clear that Hef and his three girlfriends are breaking up.  Or, as he puts it, "in transition."  Awww...  That makes me sad.  I love his relationship with the three girls; the season finale of that show will be sad for sure.

In addition to being on DWTS, "celebrity" chef Rocco Dispirito will also be making a guest appearance on an upcoming Biggest Loser episode.  Good for him.  He's cute.

Final Thought: Happy Birthday to American Idol season 5's Paris Bennett!  What are you doing with your life?

BREAKING NEWS!!! / It's About Time

Well, after years and years of denying it, saying it was only between him and God, Clay Aiken has come clean--and come out of the closet!  Congrats, Clay!  I hope all of the 55-year old Claymates aren't too upset...  The news broke after his baby mama gave birth to a healthy child; Clay decided it was time to stop living a lie.  I think he's gonna be on the cover of next week's People magazine.

This is why I'm glad I missed the Emmys last night.

Josh Groban's super-strange performance, a montage of memorable TV songs, might make your ears bleed. What's with the gospel choir? The kick line? And what's with Josh Groban, anyways? I thought he was done... Ugh.

Project Runway Recap (100th Entry!)

OK, so, Project Runway.  This is the first episode I've watched all the way through this season, and I have to say that it's getting a little boring.  Nothing is really shocking anymore; I mean, no one can beat Christian Siriano saying "fierce" at least twice in every sentence, and nothing touches "Project Runway: The Musical" from season two.

That said, it was a decent episode.  The challenge was for the designers to do a full makeover for recent college graduates, consulting with both the young ladies and their mothers. Throwing in the moms made the challenge much more interesting--listening to a mother's opinion of what her daughter should look like and how she should dress is usually quite different from the daughter's own ideas...

Anyways, the runway looks are, for the most part, pretty good.  Joe's design wasn't good enough and he was sent home...  Jerell, my favorite, won the challenge.

Before my Project Runway recap, I thought I'd share with you some of the day's top reality TV stories.

First of all, it sounds like American Idol is going to be un-fierce this season.  Even Paula says there haven't been any good auditions!  And, since there are four judges now, Simon will have the deciding vote in the event of a tie, giving him even more power.

I watched an episode of The Cho Show the other night, and Margaret recorded a "hit single" because she was looking for a way to get herself some tabloid press.  It looks like her dream has become a reality, because her new single is available for download on iTunes!  No, I'm not going to be downloading it.

So it sounds like ALL of Hef's girlfriends might be getting their own reality shows!  Does that mean that Girls Next Door could be shutting down?  I hope not; I love that show.

Kathy Griffin, star of My Life On The D-List (and one of my favorite comediennes), won her second Emmy!  Congrats, girl.

Birthday reality stars:
Wade Robson, 26.  Super hot choreographer for The Wade Robson Project and So You Think You Can Dance?
Constantine Maroulis, sixth-place on American Idol's fourth season.

I caught an episode of Making The Band 4 today which followed the rehearsals and first performances of Donnie, Day 26, and (of course) Danity Kane.  Here are my thoughts...

First of all, who is this Donnie guy?  I mean, I know who he is; he auditioned for the band and Diddy decided he would make it better as a solo artist...  Really, Diddy?  I mean, he has a nice voice and all, but it just doesn't seem like this is the right time for a guy like him.  Also, is he hot? I am really not sure...  He definitely needs a nose job, I know that much.  However, I mean, I guess he has sex appeal.

Second, there's Day 26.  I mean, I understand a little bit why this group exists...  It could be time for a Boyz II Men-type group, but I still think they're a little tacky.  However, I have to admit that their vocals are super tight.  There's nothing like a group of black guys all going off together.

Finally, there's Danity Kane, Diddy's original divas.  I mean, they're fierce.  Honestly, all of the girls are such great performers; as soon as they hit the stage, their faces light up and they know how to work the crowd.  It seems like Aubrey is never ever nervous--the just looks ready to go!

Anyhow, it's still a good show, even though it might not be quite as exciting as the seasons when Danity Kane was selected; that was some great stuff.  Laurie Ann Gibson has finally returned to the show--thank God--and she is adding some great drama, even though she's not quite as crazy as she used to be.

New Show Alert: MTV's Top Pop Group.  It's sorta like America's Best Dance Crew but they have to sing, too.  Sounds interesting...  It's hosted by Mario Lopez who is really turing out to be quite a reality TV whore.  That's fine with me.  Mmm, Mario Lopez.

Dancing With The Stars is returning for another season, and it promises to be better than ever!!!  Check out the cast here, including Kim Kardashian, Lance Bass, Toni Braxton, and Misty May-Treanor.  I'm rooting for Lance.

Final Thought: Hopefully everyone has seen this already.  Tina Fey as Sarah Palin (and Amy Poehler as Hillary Clinton).

Thursday AM News

First and foremost, today is one of those days that creeps up out of nowhere and, before you know it, it's September 11 and the seventh anniversary of a day when terror rocked our country. Countless lives were damaged by the terrible events that occurred, and countless more by the aftermath of such an unthinkable tragedy.  Please take time today to remember all of those who were lost on and affected by the attacks of 9/11.

(Was that too serious?)

Anyhow, like any day, there is some serious reality TV gossip to report.  Let's begin.

Lauren Conrad is going to be an author.  Really, Lauren?  You're a celebrity (for no reason), a designer (for no reason), a cover-girl (for no reason), and now you have to be an author?  I mean, I guess we have to look at it like this: when life gives you opportunities, you should take them.

Nina Garcia has officially said "Auf Wiedersehen" to Project Runway because she's getting ready to start filming a new show!  Airing on the Style network, Running in Heels will follow the lives of various staff at Elle magazine.  Sounds kind of good!  New York Magazine did a nice piece on Nina (and her rivalry with Anne Slowey) recently, too; check it out!

Lots is going on on Project Runway, and of course I haven't really seen any of it.  Luckily for people like me, US Magazine has an awesome site with all kinds of updates, news stories, recaps, and photos.

New show alert: Hole In The Wall, on Fox.  It looks soooo bad.  Slash I don't really get it...

Jennifer Hudson @ The Democratic National Convention

Did I share this video before? I don't think so... Jennifer Hudson, my favorite Idol alum EVER, tore it UP at the DNC. I'm so proud of her. :)

Some stuff.

Happy Birthday, dear Sanjaya!  19 years old and still a joke.  :-\

I'm not sure if talk shows count as reality TV, but this clip is completely worth it.  One of Maury's guests from a few years ago, Victoria, age 15, was obsessed with having a baby...  According to her Myspace page she now has one, but that doesn't take away from the hilarity of her rantings and ravings a few years back.  Please check it out.

Christian Siriano from Project Runway is going to be on CNN this Friday taking questions from viewers.  It's part of their "young people doing great things" segment, or something like that. What would you ask The Fierce One?

The world of TV fashion divas is in turmoil right now...  Janice Dickinson and Tyra Banks are fighting!  Apparently Janice accused Tyra of stealing her idea to have a transgender as part of ANTM; Janice thinks that her show, Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, was the first (and therefore the only???) that featured such a cast member.  Hmm...

VMA's

The VMA's were last night on MTV.  It was an interesting show, to say the least...  To be perfectly honest, I was a little disappointed.  Britney opened the show and looked SUPER hot, but alas, there was no comeback performace from her.  Hopefully soon...  What else?  Christina performed (and was introduced by the High School Musical cast) and she was OK.  I mean, Christina Aguilera ALWAYS sings live.  But she didn't last night.  That was a sad moment...    Tokio Hotel beat some fierce bitches to be named Best New Artist; who is Tokio Hotel?  Libby noted that they are "completely SCARY."  I would have to agree.  Rihanna was fine; not the best live singer, but she gives a killer performance.  Kid Rock sang "All Summer Long" and brought up the question--why do people who aren't from Torch Lake (or Northern Michigan) like that song?  We may never know.

Anyhow, yeah, it was an OK show.  Perez let us know his thoughts last night, and, for the most part, I completely agree with him.

PS--Download "Keeps Getting Better" by Christina Aguilera.  It's the song she performed last night and it's SO FIERCE.

Just a few updates...

Guess who's hosting the CMA's this year?  Country "singers" Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler, and Taylor Swift.  Interesting choices, eh?  Hmmmm...  I think Julianne Hough has taken this reality TV thing too far; I mean, stick to one genre, ok?  Anyhow, I won't be watching, but it's newsworthy I suppose.

Work, Tyra!  Everyone's favorite hot tranny mess is the top earning female in primetime TV. Wow.  Last year she made $23 million.  Wow!  That's such a ridiculous amount of money for sitting on a couch gossiping (and groping) B-list celebrities and telling girls they are too ugly/unmotivated to be a model.  Ha.

Why am I being so cynical today?  I'm not sure.

Here's something to remove the cynicism...  It looks like this time it might be for real...  Have you seen it?  Secret video footage of a Britney rehearsal, possibly (hopefully!) for the VMA's which air tomorrow night.  My fingers are crossed...
