Oh Anotonio... (etc.)

Antonio Sabato, Jr. is gonna be the next celeb to get his own reality show...  He's searching for the love of his life, "the kind of love you see in the movies."  If you think you've got what it takes (and you're a woman, apparently), check out this link.  I wish I could apply; he's fierce.

Last season's American Idol champ David Cook is finally putting out his album sometime next week.  In an interview with People magazine, Cook says that his life hasn't really changed that much, he just has "more resources."  AKA more money.  Must be nice.

Bravo is preparing for the loss of Project Runway with a whole slew of new reality shows based on the fashion industry.  Check them out!

I spent so many hours of my life in middle school and high school watching Total Request Live...  It's hard to believe that the show is finally coming to and end!  Music videos just aren't as important as they once were.

Sunday news...

It looks like American Idol champ Carrie Underwood has found herself a new man--former Bachelor Travis Stork!  They were recently seen having dinner together in Philly; also, Travis has been spotted backstage at a few of Carrie's concerts.  They make a great looking couple!

What were you for Halloween?  Some of Reality TV's biggest stars hit some parties with some fierce costumes...

*Here's Heidi Klum as a Hindu god.  If you're gonna do it, do it all the way!
*Ex-member of Making the Band Aubrey O'Day was The Little Mermaid.  What's with the dog?
*Kim Kardashian dressed up as Wonder Woman.  She's actually completely clothed!
*He could have tried harder...  Lance Bass was a High School Musical graduate.
*She's dating that ugly dude and dressed as Pamela Anderson...  Good one, Holly Madison.

Project Runway Recap (100th Entry!)

OK, so, Project Runway.  This is the first episode I've watched all the way through this season, and I have to say that it's getting a little boring.  Nothing is really shocking anymore; I mean, no one can beat Christian Siriano saying "fierce" at least twice in every sentence, and nothing touches "Project Runway: The Musical" from season two.

That said, it was a decent episode.  The challenge was for the designers to do a full makeover for recent college graduates, consulting with both the young ladies and their mothers. Throwing in the moms made the challenge much more interesting--listening to a mother's opinion of what her daughter should look like and how she should dress is usually quite different from the daughter's own ideas...

Anyways, the runway looks are, for the most part, pretty good.  Joe's design wasn't good enough and he was sent home...  Jerell, my favorite, won the challenge.

Thursday AM News

First and foremost, today is one of those days that creeps up out of nowhere and, before you know it, it's September 11 and the seventh anniversary of a day when terror rocked our country. Countless lives were damaged by the terrible events that occurred, and countless more by the aftermath of such an unthinkable tragedy.  Please take time today to remember all of those who were lost on and affected by the attacks of 9/11.

(Was that too serious?)

Anyhow, like any day, there is some serious reality TV gossip to report.  Let's begin.

Lauren Conrad is going to be an author.  Really, Lauren?  You're a celebrity (for no reason), a designer (for no reason), a cover-girl (for no reason), and now you have to be an author?  I mean, I guess we have to look at it like this: when life gives you opportunities, you should take them.

Nina Garcia has officially said "Auf Wiedersehen" to Project Runway because she's getting ready to start filming a new show!  Airing on the Style network, Running in Heels will follow the lives of various staff at Elle magazine.  Sounds kind of good!  New York Magazine did a nice piece on Nina (and her rivalry with Anne Slowey) recently, too; check it out!

Lots is going on on Project Runway, and of course I haven't really seen any of it.  Luckily for people like me, US Magazine has an awesome site with all kinds of updates, news stories, recaps, and photos.

New show alert: Hole In The Wall, on Fox.  It looks soooo bad.  Slash I don't really get it...

Some stuff.

Happy Birthday, dear Sanjaya!  19 years old and still a joke.  :-\

I'm not sure if talk shows count as reality TV, but this clip is completely worth it.  One of Maury's guests from a few years ago, Victoria, age 15, was obsessed with having a baby...  According to her Myspace page she now has one, but that doesn't take away from the hilarity of her rantings and ravings a few years back.  Please check it out.

Christian Siriano from Project Runway is going to be on CNN this Friday taking questions from viewers.  It's part of their "young people doing great things" segment, or something like that. What would you ask The Fierce One?

The world of TV fashion divas is in turmoil right now...  Janice Dickinson and Tyra Banks are fighting!  Apparently Janice accused Tyra of stealing her idea to have a transgender as part of ANTM; Janice thinks that her show, Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, was the first (and therefore the only???) that featured such a cast member.  Hmm...

New Stuff! (On TV Edition)

Lots going on in the world of reality TV, and your favorite guide (that's me) is back and better than ever!

Have you watched Date My Ex?  It stars Jo and Slade from Real Housewives of Orange County and, as your probably guessed, they are seeking out mates for one another.  How original, right? Anyhow, I watched a couple of episodes today and it's pretty bad.  I used to think Slade was super hot; however, in this show, he just looks like a deadbeat.  Jo looks great, and some of the guys she is dating are SUPER hot.

Project Runway is back!  Season five has some really talented designers--my favorites are Jerell and Leanne, even though I've really only seen two episodes.  It's strange not having Nina Garcia around; I don't know if I like it.  It seems like Michael Kors is getting a little bitter, too. In any case, what a great show!  Loves it.

Monday News

I'm doing some catch-up on what's been going on in the real world right now, so bare with me, as some of this news may be less-than-recent.  Whatever--it's new to me!

It looks like Bunim-Murray production company, the mastermind behind The Real World, is in talks to take charge of Project Runway when it moves to its new network...  Interesting.  Does this mean that we will spend more time getting to know how the contestants live and interact with one another?  Or does it mean that there will be more alcohol, sex, and foul language?  We'll have to wait and see!

Heidi Montag is planning on recording an album--this isn't news.  She is planning on making it a Christian album--this is news.  What does Heidi know about Christianity, anyways?  I mean, the Christian music market is definitely a great place for someone to start out; it's a totally different world over there, so to speak.

This is interesting: Ruben Studdard got married over the weekend in Alabama.  Huh.  I wonder if Clay was there to sing the arias and such at the service...

I wish I was on this show!  The Next Food Network Star is in full swing, and it looks like things are getting interesting (and delicious).

Here's a silly interview with David Archuleta, provided by our friends at Seventeen magazine. When asked about his celebrity crushes, he lists Jason Mraz and John Mayer.  Interesting. Maybe there's hope for me and him after all!

Gosh, lots of great Idol news lately...  Here are some updates on Paris Bennett (from season 5), and Carmen Rasmusen (from season 2), as well as another perspective on Ruben's wedding.

That's all for now!

Saturday Night tidbits...

Talk shows count as reality TV, right?  Right.  Check out this clip from Oprah's show today--"Oprah's Favorite Things...for Summer."  As expected, the audience goes NUTS.  It's amazing.  I wish SNL would put their clips on YouTube so I could also share the sketch they do about it...

Apparently (hopefully?) Flavor of Love is FINALLY coming to an end.  The season finale is also being billed as a series finale, but who knows.

I'm not really sure why, but VH1 has bought the exclusive rights to every season of The Bachelor, including the three or four seasons of The Bachelorette.  Why?  Don't they have enough dating shows?

It's official: Nina Garcia will definitely be a part of Project Runway's fifth season.  Her new position at Elle allows her to still hold her ties to Heidi and the gang.  Dank sei Gott!

Here is a great schedule of all the reality shows on TV this summer!  I haven't figured out what I'm gonna do yet because I really don't watch that much TV in the summer...  Ugh. Ghostwriters?  Guest bloggers?  IDK.

In case you've been living under a rock (or on a cruise ship in Europe...)...

Quite a few reality shows are nearing the ends of their seasons, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to catch you up on what's going on!

Top Chef: Chicago
The most recent elimination challenge pitted the chefs against one another in two teams for a wedding reception.  One team cooked for the bride while the other team cooked for the groom. Richard won, Nikki packed her knives and went home.

To find out who else has been eliminated this season, check out the episode guide from Bravo.

America's Next Top Model
For their most recent challenge, the four models had to do a photo shoot with Nigel Barker. That hardly sounds like a challenge to me!  He's so hot.  Anyhow, they were posing with a male model and were dolled up like 50's-era Hollywood leading ladies running from the paparazzi. Earlier in the show, the girls each took a turn as the photographer and did a shoot with Paulina Porizkova, judge and former supermodel.

Who's left?  Anya, Fatima, and Whitney.

I Know My Kid's A Star
I only watched a few episodes of this show, but it was pretty ridiculous.  To be honest, none of the kids are all that talented...  Anyhow, the finale was tonight, and McKenzie won.  Lora says that she was the best one as well as the only kid who wasn't completely insane.

Project Runway
There isn't currently a season underway, but there has been lots of gossip about everyone's favorite fashion show lately...  After next season, the show is moving to Lifetime network!  A few weeks ago, it was announced that Nina Garcia was being fired from Elle magazine, jeopardizing her role on the show!  Luckily for us, Perez has figured it all out.  Hmm...

Dancing With The Stars
I haven't watched one single episode of this season which is especially strange because it was last season that inspired me to start my blog...  Remember my obsession with Sabrina Bryan? Anyhow, Tuesday night's was the 100th episode, and they pulled out all the stops, including having the judges rate the 10 best dances from all five seasons!  Here's a brief show recap, including the impressive list of guest appearances.

Here are a few of my favorite performances from their list:

My personal favorite: Sabrina & Mark's jive, mostly because Mark Ballas is a ballroom GOD!

A couple of updates.

A few days ago, it was reported that Nina Garcia was fired from her post as Fashion Editor for Elle magazine... Obviously people began to speculate about how this would affect her standing as a judge on Project Runway. Perez explains it all. I do think it would be a big loss to the show if Nina was no longer a judge; I mean, she really has great taste and often plays the "Simon Cowell" roll on that show.

Bret Michael's picked Ambre on the season finale of Rock Of Love 2. I mean, out of the last two "girls," I'd have picked her, too. But is he in love with her? It seems like maybe they're just gonna be friends... To be honest, I really don't care.

The 20th season of The Real World will be bringing some big changes! Their house will be eco-friendly ("green"), the roommates will not work together but instead each pursue their dreams, and one of the cast members was chosen online! Interesting... This season is in Hollywood, so I'm sure the drama will be better than ever.

Just a couple stories...

Wow! Apparently Bravo will be saying Auf Wiedersehen to Project Runway, as the popular model-search show will be moving to TLC for its next season... Interesting. Bravo is going to be a lot less gay without Heidi and Michael Kors. What does this mean for the public? Not much, really, except probably more advertising aimed at middle-aged women than fierce gays. But let's face it--these two target audiences aren't really that different.

My roommate Lora is obsessed with Paradise Hotel. It's like her one big reality show (other than Idol). I watched part of an episode tonight and here's what I think: it's basically Real World with slightly older and worse looking people. Does anyone else watch this show???

Final Thought: Have you downloaded "Damaged" (or anything else) from Danity Kane's new album yet? Well, you should. It's a fierce song.

It's almost over...

Next Thursday is the finale of Make Me A Supermodel, one of my favorite new reality shows this season.  Last night's episode had the four remaining models compete in two challenges: a photo shoot and a runway.  For the photo shoot, they were nude (mostly), and each model represented one of the natural elements: Ronnie was earth, Holly was fire, Ben was air, and Perry was water. It was hot.  For the runway event, they had to show three different walks--one wearing underwear, one that was a little whimsical, and one serious one in formal wear.  For this second challenge, they brought in a guest coach: Christian from Project Runway!  Obviously he was fierce, but I don't know how much he actually taught them about working the catwalk.

Anyhow, here are my notes about the four remaining models...

Ben is totally hot; his body is incredible and he knows how to use it and his face to take really stunning pictures.  The judges keep telling him they can picture him in an ad for a fragrance and I totally agree; he just has that D&G look

Holly is OK...  I mean, obviously I'm biased towards the guys, but I feel like there is something missing with her.  The only personality I ever get from her is the fact that she's a dumb-talker. All of her pictures kind of show her with that dumb, open-mouth pout or whatever it is.  I'm over it.

Ronnie...  Ahh, Ronnie.  I secretly hope he doesn't make it so he moves back to Chicago and will date me.  He's got that All-American quasi-Abercrombie look, but with the right makeup and inspiration, he can take some nice high-fashion pictures.  The judges kind of nail him about hitting the gym more--he is definitely less toned than the other guys--but one of them comments that he "is an elegant, beautiful man."  I agree.

Then there's Perry.  Sometimes I think he's my favorite, other times I agree with what the judges say--that his proportions are a little off.  His pictures were by far the hottest this week; his dramatic makeup and glistening body made me more than a little excited.  Also, I'd vote for Perry for best runway walk.

So what's next?  It's up to America to decide who wins the competition!  Next week's show should be great, and I'll definitely be watching it.  I didn't vote for two reasons: one, I forgot; two, I don't know who to vote for!  Sometimes I love Ben, but sometimes I am OBSESSED with Perry, and yet every now and again I think that Ronnie could make it...  Ugh, we'll just have to find out!

Fierce Tranny Hot Mess (Christian Quotes)

I just came across a list of Christian quotes that I meant to post a while ago...  Well, apparently I never got around to it, but it's better late than never.  Trust me.  I think they're a bunch of his soundbytes that they played on the reunion show, so it's a nice collection from the whole season.

"If I was a diva, my name would be Ferosh."

"I'm not a miracle worker, lady.  I can't make you have an ass."

"I love Asians.  Asians are fierce.  Ohmygod if I'm picked it's gonna be so fierce!"

"Our team is pretty fierce, so I just called everyone Team Star.  Because Team Star is like hot like star like celebrity."

"Don't these bitches know that I'm way better than them?"

"OMG I'm gonna die of barfness."

"I was looking around the room...  Chris' garment was pure costume, 1000%.  Steven's was God-awful hideioius, Elisa's was God-awful hideous, but the judges might die over it...  Or they might die because of it."

"It's a tranny mess up in this room!"

"I think prom is horrible and tacky and gross."

"I made chaps...  Ohmygod it was so fierce."

Hope you enjoyed!

Project Runway Finale

The season finale of Project Runway was everything I hoped it would be.  There were tears, freak-outs, laughs, group hugs, unnecessary (yet totally acceptable) uses of the word "fierce," confrontations, and gays.  Oh, and there was some great fashion, too.  Watching the three designers' collections go down the runway in Bryant Park gave me the feeling of a proud father; I've watched these three talented people progress and learn how to make the judges (and the public) happy.  It was great.

Jillian was chosen to show her collection first.  Her's was the most diverse collection, showcasing her ability to produce pants, jackets, gowns, etc.  A lot lof her looks seem to be inspired by horseback riding; something about the fit of many of her pants brought this to mind.  Jillian's collection was dominated by a beautiful color palate of deep browns and excellent fabric choices.

Next up was Rami, the Israeli hottie.  His first look--a floor length gown--was awesome; exactly what you should start a collection with.  Each look is stunning and shows his trademark style of draping without being monotonous.  The last four dresses to come down the runway made me gasp--each one was more incredible and totally flawless than the last.

Finally, Fierce Christian showed us his over-the-top collection.  He may have overused black, but there is absolutely no question that he is an incredibly talented (young) designer.  His eye for detail shines through each piece and everything looks like it was made for the runways of Paris or Milan.  Fierce.

After seeing their collections, I kind of shifted my allegiances and was rooting for Rami.  Something about his collection just made me stop and say "wow!"  Jillian was eliminated first, followed by Rami, leaving Christian as the winner of Project Runway.  Congrats!  A new car, a spread in a magazine, and $100,000.  That's fierce.

Here are a few great Christian quotes from this final episode...

"I need fierce tallness and walks for days."
--On what types of models he was looking for.

"Gorge.  5'10".  Love"
--On finding the perfect model.

"Look fabulous.  Be really skinny.  Don't eat."
--Giving advice to one of his models before the show.

"Hello!  Did you have a doubt?"
--Upon winning!

"I am taking, like, a vaca.  I need a breaky break."
--Explaining what he's gonna do next.

What a season it was!  So much drama, both good and bad.  Can't wait for next time!

Project Runway: Reunion Time!

March 1-8 is a week of the utmost importance for the fashion world, New York City, and Project Runway. It's the finale of Bravo's most watched show! This week was the usual "reunion show," and it was, as expected, pretty funny. If you didn't watch it, here's what you missed:

*Victorya, one of the early stand-outs who was eliminated from the competition, will be showing her collection at Fashion Week... She doesn't need a TV show to boost her to the next level.

*Rami and Chris March are all over one another! As they're sitting together, Rami constantly has his arm around Chris' back, tickling him, patting him, etc. Strange. Maybe Rami is just trying to be nice?

*Jack update: he's doing fine, and the skin staph infection he had that forced him to leave the show cleared up a few days later. He and Christian are besties (duh).

*There is a montage of clips about the possibility of Kevin being gay; it's pretty funny. Jack and Christian both have crushes on him, but I don't see it. I also don't think he's gay.

*Tim asks the designers if anyone had their feelings hurt by other contestants... Carmen goes on, tears and all, to say that she was extremely hurt that no one missed her when she left. Well duh! She was a bitch to everyone.

*In every montage or set of clips, Christian is rolling his eyes.... It's actually hilarious; he's just so over it and knows that he's better than everyone else.

*The best clip of the show: the Personal Divas montage. After designing outfits for the women of WWE, each designer developed their own "diva" character. How appropriate, you know? Anyways, obviously Christian is my favorite--Ferocia Cotura is his diva name. His secret move is to spray bitches in the eyes with hairspray and then tie their ponytail too tight. HA.

*Another "duh" moment--Christian wins fan favorite! A quick $10,000 for him. He's fierce. And after he gets the check, he tells the other designers he's taking them all out for a cocktail. On the same page, it kind of bothers me that Christian uses "fierce" in the exact same situations that I do; I think we are meant to be best friends. Actually, he's way too cool for me and I'd be completely speechless if I ever saw him... Oh well.

So yeah, it was a good show! I'm pretty excited to watch the finale next week, especially because we don't actually know who the final three are--it's Christian and Jillian and either Chris or Rami--they're both showing three looks from their respective collections for the judges to decide who will get to show at Fashion Week!

Final Thought: This is a gem from season three... The movie trailer for What Happened to Andrae? Hilarious.

Final Final Thought: I found the BEST compilation of Christian clips ever. He's my inspiration in life.

Janice Dickinson, etc.

I've seen a few episodes of The Janice Dickinson Modeling Agency, and I'm starting to realize that it's a pretty fierce show. Janice seems like a genuinely good person to work for; when she was on ANTM I always thought she was insane and probably a crazy bitch in real life, but it looks like she really cares about the models working for her. Like in this episode am watching, Kehoe shows up a little hungover to a shoot and Janice goes nuts. Let's face it: if you're going to be a fierce model (especially for Janice Dickinson), you'd better have your shit together.

Also, I have to admit that Janice has some of the hottest models I've seen, specifically in the male category. I think she and I have very similar taste in men. :)

Here's one of Janice's most popular shots from her youth, in case you haven't seen what she used to look like.

Final Thought: Angela from Project Runway season 3 was sighted over the weekend at Casa Nueva, a local breakfast hotspot for hippies, alternative-ies, fierce divas, gays, and their supporters in Athens, Ohio. I bet she had a seasonal omelette.

Project Runway quotes... (etc.)

I missed last week's episode because I was working, but I made it home in time to see tonight's Project Runway, and I'm glad I did.  The previews made it out to be much more dramatic than it really was; I mean, I thought Jack was like super sick or something.  Turns out he (just) has an infection that makes his upper lip look crazy.  It was sad to see him leave, though, because I think he was definitely one of the best designers on the show.

As I was watching, I was trying to think of some good ways to summarize the show, and I decided that a collection of great quotes would be the best route to take tonight.  So here goes.

Tim Gunn: "...'cause I've made more bad decisions at 3 AM than I can list."
He's soooo funny slash gay sometimes.  Loves it.

Christian: "Don't these bitches know that I am way better than them?"
So unabashedly modest...  But completely amazing.  I love him.

Stephen: "Dear God, help me now."
In response to finding out he had to use a sick wedding dress in the challenge.

Christian: "It looks God-awful hideous."

Elisa: "Underneath this new body she has a new sexuality."
WTF???  She is too crazy.

Michael Kors: "...it's a little Shirley Mclaine when she played a hooker with a heart of gold."

Those were the best quotes of the night.  A few other observations:
*Stephen is a big nerd.  Too bad he went home...  He lives above one of my friends here in Chicago.
*Christian is amazing.
*There's really no reason that they brought Chris back.  Sorry.

In other news, Bravo's new show Make Me A Supermodel premiers in January, hosted by Tyson Beckford and Nikki Taylor.  It could be amazing.  I'm hoping for the best...

Friday Findings

Another slightly gay-slanted Reality TV blog is reporting something that I find to be a little ridiculous...  Jack Mackenroth, everyone's favorite fruity beefcake on Project Runway, is dating Dale Levitski, the mowhawk-clad runner-up from Top Chef's third season.  Am I the only one who thinks it's kind of a joke?  I mean, they're both definitely good looking guys, but after watching both of them regularly on their respective shows, I can't really see there being much romantic chemistry.  I can definitely picture them going out in Boystown and having a fab night together, but let's face it, their personalities don't really work together in a "dating" sort of way.  But maybe I'm just jealous.  Incredibly jealous.  Oh, PS--the two apparently "met over Myspace."  I've done that before and, well, I'll just leave it at that.

In other Bravo TV news, studio execs have announced that two shows I've never really watched (Shear Genius and Top Design) are both being slated for second seasons.  I'm indifferent.

I'm planning on catching up on some shows tonight through Sunday, so expect some fierce updates.  I hope my readership didn't go down while I was vacationing in the South of Indiana--hahaha.

Some favorites from the vaults...

I thought I'd share a little background of my experiences with reality TV. In other words, here are some of my favorite moments with a bit of explanation...

Project Runway singlehandedly brought Bravo into the reality spotlight. The show takes a handful of designers to New York City and gives them challenges to create various pieces of fashion, all the while eliminating a designer each week. The finale takes place at Fashion Week, where the top three designers showcase an entire collection of clothing. There are always incredible characters on the show; artistic people are known to be--how can I say this gently--a little insane. Santino from season *two was no exception, and he was able to make up for being such a dick by doing an awesome impression of Tim Gunn. I think most of the designers on that season shared my sentiments, as they all join in on the laughter.

Another wildly popular reality show giving a fashion-hopeful the chance of a lifetime is America's Next Top Model, produced, hosted, and judged by the unpredictable Tyra Banks. Each week, the models have photo shoots and are critiqued by some of the biggest names in the business, concluding with the elimination of the one who didn't give enough face, skipped out on a challenge, had ugly skin, or just wasn't fierce enough. At the eliminations, Tyra is always acting her FACE off, often lecturing the girls about why they are going home and why they should probably just give up on their hopes and dreams altogether. During cycle four Tyra really hit the wall, totally GOING OFF on Tiffany upon her elimination (the only double-elimination ever on the show). It's one of those moments where you are watching the TV and thinking, "What is going on?" Tyra is insane. It's all in the clip.

One of my favorite reality shows of all time is American Idol, duh. I have vivid memories of watching the first season with a few of my friends in someone's basement, sipping stolen alcohol out of empty shampoo bottles (don't ask). Though there have been some obvious duds (Ruben Studdard, namely), Idol has produced some fierce champions, but many of my favorites haven't even been in the finales... Check out Jennifer Hudson singing "Weekend in New England" from Barry Manilow night on season three. It's insane, and she looks insane, too. And here's Latoya London, one of my all time favorite contestants, singing "Don't Rain on My Parade" from Big Band night (again from season three, the best season EVER!). Idol was probably the first show to really give its losers a chance in the spotlight, especially William Hung and his awesome rendition of "She Bangs." Want more Idol? Just go to YouTube and search--you'll find years worth of clips, both good and bad.

Some reality shows only have a small following, but this doesn't mean that they don't provide incredible entertainment. A perfect example is Trading Spouses, a show that I've tried to watch since it's inception. Without question, the absolute best "trade" was when The God Warrior spent a week with a Pagan family. Check out her reaction upon her homecoming. It turns me into a God-fearing man, I'll say that.

More to come...

The Opening Round: Beginnings and Endings

Well, last night was a complete shock (slash not a shock at all) when Mel B. was robbed of the title on Dancing with the Stars. I'm pissed! You know, when Sabrina was voted off a few weeks ago, I was seriously outraged, and this is not QUITE as bad, but it's still upsetting. There were many highlights of the finale results show, though, such as Marie finishing in third (gotta love her for trying, but let's face it, she's talentless in the ballroom); the return of all of the eliminated couples (SABRINA! YES!  ALBERT REED! YES!); some great one-liners from Tom (he's such a great host); Cameron with his shirt off (finally!); and some awesome, tear-jerking montages from this fabulous and dramatic season. I mean, how many times have we seen Marie faint or Jennie & Derek fall on their asses? And they're both still funny! Anyhow, it's a shame that what's-his-name the racecar driver went home with the mirrorball trophy, but I guess I can't be that surprised... After all, it's not like America hasn't done something stupid like this before (Jennifer Hudson's 7th place Idol finish, most notably).

This was the first season of DWTS that I watched regularly, and I have to say, I was very impressed. Yes, it's funny that most of the "stars" are actually way past their primes (or have their primes still in the future--SABRINA), but it is always entertaining to see people completely out of their element.  Also, I love watching good dancers; it's a well-known fact that my dream talent is to be a dancer of some sort.  All in all, wow, what a season; if you didn't tune in, check it out online at abc.com or go to YouTube and search for your favorite stars.

And now, on to Project Runway.  I didn't watch much of last season but I was a fanatic of the previous two, especially season one.  This time around, Heidi is even more German (or whatever she is) and Tim Gunn now knows how gay he actually sounds ("Designers...  Make it work.")  The cast is incredibly talented; never before have there been so many designers who have already enjoyed some level of success.  From lingerie to nymph-inspired cloaks, these designers have done it all, and it's way too early to pick any front-runners, at least for me.

The Redeye, a morning newspaper us Chicagoans enjoy while riding the El, did a preview of the designers a few weeks ago and they compared each one to a designer from past seasons.  Well, The Redeye was completely wrong; they said that Victorya was "forgettable" and wouldn't make it past week one, but she's won two of the three challenges!  I think her designs are nice, feminine, and pretty; nothing to write home about, really, but she's definitely good enough to be there.  Jack definitely rocked the menswear challenge with Tiki Barber tonight, and the male models Tim brought in definitely rocked my TV.  (Sidenote: throw in male models and I'm all about it).  As far as personality is concerned, well, you might not believe me, but I like Christian.  He's so ridiculouslyfiercelyinsanely gay, it's awesome.  I also love the relationship that he and Jack have--did you see Jack's rippling muscles barely flinch while carrying Christian in a tote bag back to Parsons?  Adorable.

You know, I haven't really watched Real World regularly since...hmmm...either Chicago or New Orleans.  I think that show was cooler to me when I was younger than the cast members; now, it isn't as unbelievable that a house full of beautiful college kids get drunk every night and barely do anything worthwhile (or perhaps nothing at all) during the day.  It's one of those reality shows that is basically the same from season to season, especially now that they pick the most ridiculous people they can find, rather than mixing it up with a few normals.  Anyhow, my roommate and I watched the new episode today, and I officially decided that I hate Parisa.  I'm sorry, I do.  Now, do NOT think that this means I am on Team Tricia, because that is clearly not the case.  Tricia is a closed-minded white trash Christian skank who needs a new dye job.  But Parisa is sooooo annoying!  Why did she EVER think it would be a good idea to be on the show?  Her personality just isn't right.  And I hate the way she is constantly acting so mature.  Get over it.  The funniest moment on tonight's show was when those two brown-haired sorority girls were leaning over the phone room and spitting on the window.  Was that really supposed to frighten Parisa out of Australia?

The last show I'll be discussing tonight is Run's House.  This diamond in the rough showcases one of the most normal, down to earth families in the history of reality TV.  Seriously.  Run and his wife are both totally cool parents and all of their kids are full of personality and hidden talents...  Especially Diggy, who is a totally fierce dancer.  It's a low-key show that really pleases.

Final thought: Please download Heidi Montag's song "Body Language."  I know it's been out in cyberspace for a few weeks already, but it's priceless.  Especially Spencer's rap.
